Angels & Devils come together to form a foursome union for better and for worse. Paintings and sculptures of good and evil, right and wrong or just stuff that looks good on the walls.
Nancy Cone works with Super Sculpey? clay. Detailed sculptures that combine various things as doll parts, hand-sewn clothing, jewelry, human hair, teeth or other found materials. Her titles are often very pun-like and always with a sense of humor regardless of the dark overtones one might observe at first glance.
Carol Es is a painter of primitive, raw paintings which incorporate collage with thick oil paint. Her work has an honesty that speaks to those with similar crosses to bear, survivor issues and delivers stark inspiration. She is showing 12 pieces from her "Angels Series".
Rick Frausto is an assemblage artist based in Long Beach who combines found materials with working gadgets that light up, creating high quality sculptures that are sure to brighten one's spirit instantaneously.
mjp is a San Pedro based writer and artist who recently had his debut in a group show, "words." last month at the Angels Gate Cultural Center. three. is featuring a couple of small watercolor pieces from his "Devils" as seen within a cottage cheese ceiling some years ago.
